On the contrary, what the church believes and teaches is preventing people from being converted and saved. So how can the lost be saved? The Scripture says, "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13). Thus, freedom from sin requires verbal confession of one's specific sins. By extension, the church is to present the requirements of God; show the lost that they are condemned and subject to the wrath of God; and call for immediate confession, repentance, and surrender to Jesus Christ.
