The distinction is very important as infirmities are not sin. I've pulled this table below from a wonderful book entitled " The Fallacy of the "Sinning Christian " by a dear brother, Pastor and theologian Malcolm Lavender who has gone on to his reward. Scriptural Death Route Holiness

Scriptural Death Route Holiness I'm attaching a wonderful little book, ... I'm attaching a wonderful little book, and it's the most recent book I could find that laid out in detail what the Lord wants from us. It's in a PDF format. Here's a brief synopsis by the author: By the term "death-route" we mean, taking our stand against carnality and turning over every revealed carnal trait to the Holy Ghost, for its slaying. Then, when the Holy Spirit strikes the death blow to one's corrupt nature, all of the carnal traits are destroyed in one master stroke of divine power. Thus, the heart is purified and made perfect in the holy love of God which is shed abroad in the heart by the Holy Ghost (Rom. 5:5). Only dead people fully live-- dead to self and alive unt...

(NOTE: This is a slightly condensed version of a 1953 sermon contained in the powerful book man: the dwelling place with god . these three wounds god will use and these wounds correlate well to what god wants to do in you and me in the new series that Pastor ray started today.) FAITHFUL ARE THE WOUNDS OF A FRIEND, says the Holy Spirit in Proverbs 27:6. And lest we imagine that the preacher is the one who does the wounding, I want to read Job 5:17 and 18: "Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty: for he maketh sore, and bindeth up: he woundeth, and his hands make whole." You see, the one who does the wounding here is not the servant, but the Master Himself. So with that in our minds I want to talk to you about three faithful wounds of a friend. In order to get launched into my message let me introduce a little lady who has ...
