Why do we sin whatever that sin may be? Most of us sin simply because we hope to get something good out of it. Sin is when we place our own desire over our duty to serve the living God of heaven. We must lay down this quid pro quo attitude, where we view God in a totally utilitarian way.
Failure to do this will leave you in a half-converted state. Make an unequivocal decision to give yourself totally to Jesus, you can leave your sin!
Can you actually be saved in the midst of your selfishness? The Holy Spirit always examines our motives to determine why we do what we do. The selfishness of our hearts must be utterly exposed and transformed by the power of the blood of Jesus. What is your motive in following Jesus?
