Pastor Ray opens the broadcast today with the story of Blind Bartimaeus. We must cast ourselves on the mercy of the Lord Jesus, lest we perish. We can only get Jesus attention through the loud cries of our hearts. Is your heart desperate for the mercy of Jesus?

We see that Bartimaeus was eager for Jesus to come, so the desperation is one of the keys to get to Jesus. We also see his poverty of spirit, another requisite of getting to Jesus. Finally, he was determined to get to Jesus and that's the only way that we will as well.

To cast one's self on is to yield or submit one's self unreservedly to, as to the mercy of another.

Webster's Revised Unabridged Dictionary, published 1913 by G. & C. Merriam Co.

Is this the cry of your heart? Where is your heart at in seeking after Jesus and what He wants to do in your life?

In today's classic sermon, Pastor Ray distinguishes the "Life on God's Terms" with the "Kingdom of Cain" who wanted to have be in charge of his own life. Despite Cain's great sin, God still called after him and his call is that we lay down our lives in service to Him. Will you be a Cain or a Daniel? God never forces us to serve him but yet he continually calls us to lay down our lives to Him. https://www.nationalprayerchapel.com/06-25-2016-the-kingdom-of-cain-saturday-sermon-classic-october-2006-2/?feed_id=176&_unique_id=643165783b58a

Judas?

Judas? Judas had a hidden agenda and would... Judas had a hidden agenda and would not accept Jesus for who he is because his expectations were not being met. Have you dealt with this Judas spirit or will you allow it to destroy you? You need not be a Judas but must allow Jesus to fully change you and deal with bitterness, resentment, pride, judgment and/or your lack of love. Do it quickly because this Judas spirit will quickly lead to betrayal and you will become a betrayer. https://nationalprayerchapel.com/?p=10162&feed_id=4077

(Note: Since the broadcast on January 7 further told the story of John Newton, we are posting the broadcast from October 14.) Can God save the worst of us? The hymn Amazing Grace that has touched the lives of millions was written by a very unlikely candidate to have embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This beautiful hymn of Grace was written by a slave trader. John Newton was a hardened man who had sailed the world, seen it all and profited from the buying and selling of human beings. Sometimes the very worst can become the very best. Listen to this inspiring story of repentance, forgiveness, redemption and our Lord’s Amazing Grace. https://nationalprayerchapel.com/?p=3774&feed_id=4166
