The recent happenings at Asbury University are emblematic of what is happening in the modern American church. The message is chalked full with many scriptures, which includes a very stern warning directly from the scriptures. Jesus requires repentance and confession and the gateway into the presence of God is NOT praise and worship.

26If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume all adversaries.

Soldiering On  Is your church soldiering on without th...    Is your church soldiering on without the Holy Spirit, perhaps while praying for revival? This will never produce revival. We must take the position, "Either the Holy Spirit comes, or the church closes. And it's over."     How do you know if you're soldiering on? When your church stops confession and repentance. Instead, the church fills up broken cisterns with washed up doctrine, programs and Bible studies, casualness, and happy praise and worship. As a result, the church makes no impact on the culture. Christians remain carnal and unsanctified, and the lost unsaved.     This isn't God's heart for the church. Before, the church had revivals. Refreshings of the Holy Spirit brought general change to entire cities and nations. Criminal activities stopped, bars closed, broken families made peace, and people paid back old debts.
