The apostle Paul indicates that to be chosen by God, you must be sanctified by the Holy Spirit. In other words, you must be holy in reality. But how is this to happen? Is it by "progressive sanctification," or "entire sanctification"?

Many in the church today are trying to "grow into" holiness, or to "gradually become holy," through a self-help process--though they don't recognize it as self-help. This often includes Bible studies, Sunday school classes, retreats and workshops, small groups, and private prayer and Bible reading. In reality, these are works-based approaches to salvation. It is trying to make myself holy. However, the holiness required for us to enter heaven can only come by humble submission to Jesus.

When a person is born again, they are in one sense sanctified. They stop sinning and live a holy life. But, this is not the end of the road.

Brother Bevington shows us that Holy Spirit completes this work by "entire sanctification." This is a second work of grace, after the new birth. After you are sanctified, you then grow. However, you do not grow into a state of sanctification. Will you humble your heart, and let Jesus make you holy, as only he can?

In today's classic sermon, Pastor Ray distinguishes the "Life on God's Terms" with the "Kingdom of Cain" who wanted to have be in charge of his own life. Despite Cain's great sin, God still called after him and his call is that we lay down our lives in service to Him. Will you be a Cain or a Daniel? God never forces us to serve him but yet he continually calls us to lay down our lives to Him. https://www.nationalprayerchapel.com/06-25-2016-the-kingdom-of-cain-saturday-sermon-classic-october-2006-2/?feed_id=176&_unique_id=643165783b58a

Judas?

Judas? Judas had a hidden agenda and would... Judas had a hidden agenda and would not accept Jesus for who he is because his expectations were not being met. Have you dealt with this Judas spirit or will you allow it to destroy you? You need not be a Judas but must allow Jesus to fully change you and deal with bitterness, resentment, pride, judgment and/or your lack of love. Do it quickly because this Judas spirit will quickly lead to betrayal and you will become a betrayer. https://nationalprayerchapel.com/?p=10162&feed_id=4077

The Amazing Grace of Jesus Christ (October 14, 2015)

(Note: Since the broadcast on January 7 further told the story of John Newton, we are posting the broadcast from October 14.) Can God save the worst of us? The hymn Amazing Grace that has touched the lives of millions was written by a very unlikely candidate to have embraced the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This beautiful hymn of Grace was written by a slave trader. John Newton was a hardened man who had sailed the world, seen it all and profited from the buying and selling of human beings. Sometimes the very worst can become the very best. Listen to this inspiring story of repentance, forgiveness, redemption and our Lord’s Amazing Grace. https://nationalprayerchapel.com/?p=3774&feed_id=4166
